Colt Rushton Responds to Gary Coleman's Plea in the Payson, Utah, Justice Court

The former child star actor, Gary Coleman, of Diff’rent Strokes, pled no contest in the Payson, Utah, Justice Court to the criminal charges of reckless driving and disorderly conduct stemming from an incident that occurred on September 8, 2008, in a bowling alley parking lot.  Colt Rushton of Spanish Fork, Utah, was injured in the incident and is represented by The Lance Firm, P.C, in a pending civil lawsuit filed in the Fourth District Court.

In the criminal matter, Mr. Coleman was ordered to pay a fine and will be on probation for 12 months following the incident.  Mr. Rushton is pleased to see that Mr. Coleman has begun to accept responsibility and pay the penalty for his unlawful conduct and he wishes Gary luck with his probation.  Moreover, he suggests that additional anger management counseling for Mr. Coleman is probably in order.

With regard to the pending civil case, sadly, Mr. Coleman continues to fight the claims.  Accordingly, fact discovery is underway and Mr. Rushton and his counsel look forward to taking depositions of Mr. Coleman and his wife, Shannon Price, in the near future.  Further, Mr. Rushton intends to vigorously pursue his civil claims until Mr. Coleman and his wife accept responsibility and pay for the injuries caused by their admitted conduct or until a jury of their peers ultimately determine fault in the issue.

Any inquiries, requests for information or interviews on this matter should be directed to Mr. Rushton's attorney, Dustin Lance, of THE LANCE FIRM, P.C.
